Hello! My name is Paul, and I am a postdoctoral researcher in the department of physics at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, working in the group of Egor Babaev. I am a mathematical physicist specialising in the geometry and dynamics of topological solitons, such as lumps, vortices and skyrmions. In particular, I am interested in their application to theoretical condensed matter physics, superconductivity, nuclear & high energy physics, and cosmology.

I recently finished my doctorate in mathematics from the University of Leeds (under the supervision of Derek Harland and Martin Speight) and was a member of the Leeds Geometry Group. My main research project focused on skyrmion crystals stabilized by vector mesons (\(\omega\) and \(\rho\)). I was particularly intesrested in the application of these Skyrme model variants to cold dense nuclear matter (neutron stars, strange stars & black holes), and finite atomic nuclei.

If you are interested in my research, most of my recent and past research projects are detailed here.

If you would like to collaborate on any of these projects, or want to start a new project together, then contact me at paulnleask@live.co.uk.
